What We're Reading Wednesday - Spring 2017 Recap

In April and May, I was able to read 12 books! Yes, 12! I did something I swore I never would: I started reading books on my Kindle. I am still very much a paperback lovin' girl but with traveling and busy afternoons on the go, reading on my Kindle was so easy. Additionally many of these books were included in Kindle Unlimited library and aren't my typical pieces. A few were just okay while others I completely devoured within days. Here is what I read in the last 2 months.

Confess by Colleen Hoover

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Everything We Keep by Kerry Lonsdale

Summer Island by Kristin Hannah

Coming Clean: A Memoir by Kimberly Rae Miller

The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry

The Silent Waters by Brittainy C. Cherry

Bright Side by Kim Holden

Gus by Kim Holden

Franco by Kim Holden

Fever by Melissa Pearl

Bulletproof by Melissa Pearl

Ones worth recommending ...
I really loved the series by Brittany C. Cherry and Kim Holden. Both series are quick reads and tie everything up. I like how each book ties together with the book before it. When you become attached to characters it's always nice to see what happens after the story ends. Each series closes out the series nicely.

Coming Clean was a surprising read. It shares the story of what it's like to grow up with hoarders as parents. You've heard the stories or even seen the TV shows broadcasting life as a hoarder but this book shares the author's story as a child and young adult growing up with hoarders as parents. It's such an eye opening read.

Worth skipping ...
Everything We Keep is an okay book till the ending. And not because of how it ends but more because of how unrealistic the ending is. I am one to finish a book once I start it and this was one of those. The story was just too far fetched for my liking.

I am certain my reading time is going to be shorten this Summer with a very busy 4 year old at home. But here are some books I hope to read over the next month or so.

Emily, Alone by Stewart O'Nan
I picked this book up after seeing it recommended by another blogger. I don't read many male authors and have challenged myself to do so more often this year. This is a sequel but I've been told I don't need to read the sequel to enjoy this novel. Let's hope that's the case.

I am eager to share this book with you all. I will be hosting a giveaway as well. I thrive when things are organized and there is structure to our days. Add Jesus in and I know this book is going to do wonders for myself and family. A full review and giveaway is coming soon!

Twenty-Two: Letters to a Young Woman Searching for Meaning by Allison Throwbridge
The stories and thoughts in these pages are meant to encourage and inspire. I am eager to walk away with a few new pieces of advice to share and to keep for myself.

Once I finish the above 3 books, I will have reached my goal to read 25 books this year! And by the end of June no less. I will love if you all give me some lighter reads to pick up this Summer. Just because I hit my goal already doesn't mean I won't be reading. You all know me... forever a bookworm.
