Friday Favs: Pizza, Toy Tester and a Scientist

Dear week jammed pack full of plan -- I am beyond excited to see you come to an end. We have plans to visit friends and family this weekend and after the busyness of this week, I am eager to unwind a little with some of my favorite people. Here is a look at the highlights from this week along with some random thoughts.

One of Connor's favorite things to do is play scientist while I prep for dinner. He pulls out spices, condiments, mixing bowls and utensils and creates potions and spells. It makes a bit of a mess but he loves this time of day. I have to admit, I'll gladly take the mess if it means he is learning and playing pretend. I love hearing and seeing his imagination at play. Maybe one day I'll let him share in the actual dinner prep.

Speaking of cooking, I finally got to Trader Joe's to pick up this cauliflower pizza crust. While I know it won't be anything like the pizza crust I know and love, this option saves me a ton of points when we splurge on pizza night, which is about once a week. The crust and cheese is the part of pizza that can be really tricky. I am not ready to give up the cheese yet so I figured we could start with the crust. I'll let you know what I think of it. Have you tried it before? I'd love to hear your opinion.

Instagram has allowed Weight Watchers to be such an easier transition. Just last week I discovered Simple Girls seasoning and sauces. I ordered their sample pack ($4.99 and free shipping) so that I could get an idea of what their products are like. The BBQ is zero points for a 1/4 of a cup. Yes please! I'll admit it's not like my favorite sweet BBQ sauce but it's something I could totally get used to.

When leaving the house yesterday, I asked Connor if he could carry something. He said "Momma, can't you see? My hands are like totally full." I mean... really! Not only was I wear my cross-body purse but I had my water bottle in one hand and then a bag of Connor things (swim clothing, goggles, towel water, snacks, etc.). I told him from now on he has to carry his own toys, snacks and drink and his reply was "I guess I'll just never have a snack again." The dram with this one is on a whole new level. Apparently toys trump food.

Connor and his girl Mae were toy testers this week at a local toy store. Cairn's Toy Store is one of our favorite places to shop. The kids got to sample new Melissa and Doug toys and give feedback to the company. We were given a 20% off coupon for all M&D toys and Connor picked out a fun collection of goodies. I love Melissa and Doug items and would buy every single one if we had a reason for any more or even room for them all.

Here is what we shared this week on the blog in case you missed a post...

Be sure to come by Monday for June's $10 at Target and then again on Tuesday. We have a super cute craft and Summer list all based on the Pout Pout Fish children's book! Happy weekend friends!
