James and I had a couple of chats over New Year's Eve and day about what we want to see for ourselves and for our family in 2017. We have a really great life and we want to take that up a notch or two over the next 12 months. We want to focus on empowering our family to be the best "we" can be along with growing deeper in our faith and our marriage.
Connor... oh sweet CJ. Year 4 has been really rough so far. I hope that we can see an end in sight but until then we are just going to love him through it. Because that's what parents do, right? I hope we see our sweet guy more often soon but till then we are going to start having more family outings in hopes it will kick his moodiness to the curb.
For the second year in a row I am going to be focusing on particular areas to grow and enjoy: family, fitness/health, personal, Connor and miscellaneous. Last year I had blogging on my list but that won't be the case this year. I want to focus more of my goals on things that will help better our family and overall lifestyle so blogging will occasionally get added to the miscellaneous section. With that being said here is what we will be focusing on this month.
Take a winter hike
Attend church on a regular basis
FITNESS & HEALTH
Meal prep on Sundays for lunch for James & I
Remove sweets for 30 days
Start our couple's devotional
Have January date night
Attend Funk Lab Dance seminar
GDO - Guys Day Out with Connor and James
Work through purging and cleaning basement
Start working on consignment products
I did really well with these goals last year so I have high hopes that I'll be able to do the same this year. And on top of those goals, I've decided to pick a word of the year for 2017. I did a lot of thinking and I picked a word that allows the most growth. This year's word for myself (for my family, too) is...
More than anything I hope that we can change together as a family to be healthy, happier, closer to Christ and balanced in all ways of life. We have areas that need improvement for sure so that's what I hope we can accomplish this year. A year full of POSITIVE CHANGE will truly better our family.
Are you working on specific goals this year? Did you pick a single word for yourself?
I'd love to hear what you plan to do for 2017.
