Budget Beauty Finds for the Low Maintenance Momma

Confession: I’m a bit of a beauty product junkie. While I'm not always made up, I do have a deep love of trying new products and seeing if they can help hide the I-haven't-slept-in-4 years-and-I-had-30-minutes-to-get-ready-this-morning look I rock 6 out of 7 days a week. I've tried many products and have discovered that they can really break the bank if you don't know what to use or where to shop. In the spirit of spending less and saving more in the New Year, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite affordable beauty buys.

Most of the products I’m featuring today can be found at your local Target and all of them can be purchased for under $15. Even if you’re on a budget, you can still find an amazing selection of products if you are willing to shop around or use coupons, which I do. I’ve tried every single one of these products and all earn a 5 star rating from this low maintenance Momma.

First up is my love of OGX Moroccan Argan Creme Shampoos and Conditioners. My hair is long, thick and color treated. If it gets done it encounters a ton of heat. This shampoo/conditioner combo is perfect for adding shine and softness to hair that takes a beating with chemicals and blow dryers and curling wands. {Shampoo is $5.79 and Conditioner is $7.99}

One "chore" that I despise is drying my hair. I am not lucky enough to have hair that dries pretty so it's a must that I blow it dry if it's going to be down. I love this L'OrĂ©al Paris Advanced Hairstyle Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray. Not only does it shield against heat damage, but it reacts with the heat from the blow-dryer to reduce blow-dry time. When I use this, I save a good 7-10 minute on drying my hair!{Cost is $3.99}

Orly Color Grow Aid Nail Treatment is like a vitamin for your nails. I snagged this at Kohl's when my local Target ran out and it's been a God-send on my dry nails this Winter. This polish helps strengthen the nails while stimulating growth which my naturally short nails need. There is also a slight color to the polish so it's great as a stand alone color, too. {Cost is $7.99}

When I wear eye make-up, it's usually shadow, liner and mascara. Taking all that of got a lot easier when I discovered Mary Kay's Oil-Free Eye Make-up Remover. When I use this, which isn't as often as I should (I go to bed with makeup still on far too often!), my shadow, liner and mascara come off within seconds without scrubbing or eye irritation. Prior to using this I would use baby oil and that never turned out well; it's so oily! {Cost $15 but oh so worth it}

This final two items are a brand new favorite of mine and I know you will love them, too! I use 4-5 brushes to apply my makeup when I'm doing my entire face (think foundation, powder, blush and eyes). I started using Real Techniques Brush Cleaner and Brush Cleansing Palette to clean my brushes out on a monthly basis and the results are unbelievable. Not only are my brushes clean but I get a smoother makeup application thanks to a cleaner brush. {Cleaner is $8.99 and Palette is $14.99}

I use each of these items daily with the exception of the brush cleaner and palette making the investment to spend a little more easier to manage. I'm not a high maintenance girly girl but I do enjoy using products that I think work best for me and that are worth spending money on.

What are some of your favorite drugstore beauty products? Do you use any of the ones I shared today?
