Yesterday our sweet guy turned 4 and we had the chance to celebrate with family and friends. While I would love to just share all the details, Momma is tired so I'm going to recap his party for keepsake purposes as this blog has taken over as Connor's baby book (which probably has 3 inches of dust in a storage container in the basement!) and call it a night. Here is our boy celebrating his 4th birthday.
As per the tradition Connor woke up to a room full of balloons. This is the 4th year we've done this and he know has a request on the color of his balloon. He wanted yellow to match his Pokemon theme. Connor asked for a Pokemon Go birthday and while I loved the idea of getting outside and having fun, I don't think parents would be okay with it. Not to mention October in Ohio can be awfully cold. So we settled on a Pokemon party. At the end of the day, he really just wanted cake and his friends so I think we did all right by him.
Our party was from 1-3 so we served light snacks along with pizza. It was perfect. The grown-ups did most of the eating as the little ones were too busy playing. I didn't get a photo but the church we used has an indoor play area. Similar to what you see at Chickfila but super sized. The kids ran for a good hour before settling down for cupcakes and presents.
Connor was showered with far too much, our living room is still covered with toys that we have yet to find a home for. When asked what he favorite part of his day was he replied "that I got to have a birthday". I love the simplicity of a little ones heart and mind.
Connor loved his party. He was showered with love, attention and far too many gifts. It's so hard to believe that Connor is 4. Time has gone by so fast and it's a bit tough to imagine him as anything but my baby boy. But as he is quick to remind me "I'm a big boy Momma". Insert tears and heartache.
