LOVINGHow big Connor is lately. He has really turned a corner and is just so grown-up. We still have the typical 3 year old moments but overall, life with a threeanger has been bearable. We've started swim lessons and have a 6 week soccer camp coming up in August. I feel like a legit Mom with all these "big kid" activities.
READINGThe Assistants. I am so close to being finished with it and can't wait to see how it all plays out. I have so many books to read that I wish I could dedicate more time daily to reading but it's not always possible. I picked up Emily Giffin's new novel, Then Comes Loves, this weekend so that makes 31 books on my shelf that need read.
EATINGLots of soup. I know that soup isn't most people's go-to meals for the Summertime but I like being able to use my slow cooker and soups, stews and chowders are such simple meals to throw together. I don't like spending a ton of time in the kitchen during the warmer months so quick and easy is the way to go for us. I'll be sharing our menu later this month and the bulk of the recipes can be made in a crockpot.
DRINKINGTons of water and green tea. It's finally hot here in Ohio so I've been upping my water intake and green tea gives me a bit of caffeine plus flavor. I can only drink plain ol' water so often. I have a couple of ice coffee recipes I want to try but I am leary that they will be good. I am such a coffee snob, it's ridiculous and nothing taste as good as a white chocolate mocha from the Bucks.
LISTENING TOMore cartoons than I care for. Connor doesn't nap anymore so in the afternoon, we have quiet time with a few Disney episodes or a movie. I am lucky if I get to watch 1-2 shows a day once C goes to bed. While I'm not a huge TV person sometimes I like to veg out to some bad, reality TV or murder mystery. But yeah, I'm on cartoon overload by Friday.
MAKINGPlans for our beach vacation in September. We've narrowed it down to 2 spots: the Outer Banks or Tybee Island. Both would be new to us and while I'm game for anything, We are driving and both are 10ish hours from us so as long as we can get in plenty of R&R, beach time and a lighthouse or two, I am down for either location.
WATCHINGOther than cartoons, I've been watching Big Brother mostly. I'm almost caught-up. I have a habit of binge watching more and more as the Summer gets busier and busier, since the show is on multiple evenings. For those of you who watch, James is Team Nicole, Connor is Team Corey (because he wore a pink shirt in an episode) and I'm Team Paulie.
VISITINGFriends in Columbus. We are seeing them tomorrow and again this weekend for a birthday party. The older I get the more I truly value the quality of a friendship over quantity. Connor loves being with other kids and I love knowing that I have a friendship that I can be real, honest, and myself with so I've got a group of girls that I love being with and finally feel like my friendship life is together.
WEARINGMy hair down more and more. While it's hot and I have a ton of hair, I'm making the effort to wear my hair down more. I recently had it colored and trimmed and thought to myself why spend all this money to just throw it up in a messy bun. So I've challenged myself to wear it down at least 3 days a week. So far, so good.
OBSESSED WITHMy essential oils. I've been using them more and more lately and the results have been amazing. I stil use commercial products but have been adding oils to our daily life a little at a time. One of my favorite ways to do so is to use the oils as an air freshener. I've been diffusing Orange with Grapefruit and it smells heavenly. I especially like doing this after cooking. It helps take away that cooked food smell.
LOOKING FORWARD TOThe day Connor finally sleeps all night, night after night. I have no clue what to do about this kid's sleeping patterns. He woke up this morning at 3:30 and after fighting with him to go back to sleep for almost 2 hours, we finally just started our day at 5:15. So send some coffee my way along with prayers of patience.
So there you have it. That's what's "Currently" going on in our world?
What's new with you?
