Declutter Your Home Printable Checklist

Spring has finally showed up here in the Midwest. Just last week we had snow flurries in the forecast but luckily the sun is shining more and warmer temps are on their way. Having been home more than usual this winter thanks to illness after illness, I have the inch to give our home a much needed deep cleaning. I would love to just toss everything but the Mister isn't down with that so I'll stick to decluttering. With the bulk of the holidays and special occasions behind us, it's time to focus on purging our home of the extra we have.

A cleaning list that involves your entire home can be overwhelming. Where do you start? If you are like me and stay home with your little one, it's tough to do it all in a day so I broke our home into rooms and then rooms into areas. It's much more sensible for me to focus an hour or two (if I'm lucky!) on a particular task or project and being able to complete it in one afternoon instead of having multiple tasks started but none close to being finished.

And let's be honest, while I'm busying cleaning out the fridge, my little guy is busy tearing about the living room. You win some, you lose some! And as long as I have my boy at home, this is going to be the case. But knowing that I've checked one chore off my list on a daily basis gives me such a since of accomplishment. While it may not seem like much on day 1, after 30 days of completely one core a day, you will be so proud of the progress you've made.

Are you struggling as to where to start? Here is my checklist that allows you to break each room into sections, giving you the ability to declutter your home in just 30 days with just one chore a day.

Many of these areas can be decluttered, organized and cleaned in 30 minutes or less. I'm looking at your spice cabinet, craft supplies and entry way. And if you schedule a 30 day declutter every 3-5 months, you'll soon discover that the tasks get easier and completed quicker because you haven't been neglecting rooms in your home for months on end. I usually declutter 3 times a year -- January, April, September.

When was the last time you focused on removing the extra stuff from your home? If you need a starting point, print off my checklist by following this link, pick a room and start tossing. You will be so happy you did when you discover how freeing it is to live more with less!
