WMM1001 :: Update and Goals #4

Confession: I really slacked on my 101 in 1001 list and task this Fall. I had big goals for myself in September but failed. Hard. But that's okay because I have 1001 days to complete my list so there is plenty of time left. If you are a new WMM reader, you might not know what I'm talking about. To sum it all up, I've compiled as list of 101 things to do/experience/try between November of 2014 and July 2017. I have 1001 days to complete the list and along the way, I get to push my limits and expand my experiences. Here is my original list: 101 in 1001 - Master List. Today, I'm going to recap the goals I've meet and share which ones I plan to work on this month and next.

In my first year of #WMM1001 I have accomplished the following:
  1. Travel to California - visit November 2014
  2. Create a pen-pal - meet Courtney from Shiraz In My Sippy Cup
  3. Inspire someone else to create their on 101 in 1001 list - Read Lindsay's List HERE
  4. Meet Desiree and Liz - blogged about it HERE
  5. Redesign Wife Mommy Me -thanks to Erin of Designs by Erin
  6. Get a passport - Cabo here we come!
  7. Hit 600 followers on Google Friend Connect - completed December 2014
  8. Collaborate with a blog friend for a project I believe in - Coffee for Two with Courtney
  9. Find our perfect "home church"- accomplished March 2015
  10. Buy a stranger coffee - Becky and Keri, you have snail mail coming your way; enjoy the coffee!
  11. Start a family tradition - we've been attending church on a regular basis but going on Easter was a first for us in Ohio so that's a tradition I'd like to keep going. Easter and Christmas services are a must.
  12. Send snail mail to at least 10 people in 10 different states - over the last 2 months, I've mailed happy mail to the following states: California, Texas, Arizona, New Jersey, Iowa, South Carolina, Illinois, Maine and Oklahoma.
  13. Go on a picnic with the boys - in the Spring we packed up dinner and headed to a local park for a picnic and a bit of park play.
  14. Go an entire day without social media - this may seem super easy but as a blogger, you are online every morning and throughout the day networking and sharing your content.
  15. Send someone a care package for no reason - Connor and I sent #FavAuntKissten a small little package that included one of his painted rocks just to tell her hi and that we love and miss her.
  16. Spend a weekend off the grid - this means from Friday to Monday no Facebook, no Instagram, no Twitter. I didn't even answer emails. Going off the grid left me feeling relaxed and more focused on my current surroundings instead of what's going on on my phone.
  17. Complete a "photo an hour" project - I loved doing this and shared our day with you HERE. This was a lot of fun for me, capturing little moments throughout our day. I plan to do one each season so be on the lookout for a Fall themed post in the near future.
  18. Go 90 days without Target - yup, you read that right! And because I wanted to see how far I could go without, I went above and beyond and gave it up for exactly 112 days. And the only reason I went there was because I needed something for a future post that could only be purchased there.
  19. Find the perfect color of red lipstick - I realize how silly this is but we've all seen women rockin' some red lips and I've always been a bit envious. Red is such a bold powerful color so I wanted to see if I could pull it off. I shared my experience in this photo. How'd I do?
  20. Take a road trip with Tracy - Aunt T, Connor and I packed up the car and headed north to Columbus to spend time with friends a few weekends back. I loved the time "stuck" in a car with her and can't wait for our next adventure.
September and October were the busiest. months. of. our. lives, leaving very little extra time to work on my list but I was able to check 3 more things off my list:
  1. BOO our friends
  2. Go apple picking
  3. List 32 things I like about myself before turning 33
  4. Raise money for an important cause - I hosted an online Thirty One party where a percentage of our parties sales would go to charity.
24 activities/tasks have been checked from the list. This puts me at almost 23% complete and $230 bucks in savings. Number 101 on my list is to put $10 back into savings for every task I complete. If I were to do all of these by July 2017, I could have as much as a grand in my savings account. I plan to use this for a fun family trip.

For the remaining part of November and December, I'm going to focus on 6 goals. That's a goal each week starting Monday. Simple enough right? That's what I'm hoping!

Open a recipe book to a random page and cook
Eat at a new restaurant and blog about the food/experience
Make dinner, serving dessert first || Leave a 100% tip at a restaurant
Move all my photos from my laptop to an external hard drive || Attend a cookie exchange

Anyone else notice how food related the bulk of my tasks are? I must be hungry! When I accomplish something on my list, I usually share a photo or update on Instagram with hashtag #wmm1001. Follow along as I conquer 101 things in 1001 days!
