Friday Favorites :: October 23

There are no words for how ridiculous this week was. From sickness to exhaustion to running behind in every aspect of life, I am glad to see Friday. I'll let my weekly Friday Favorites fill you in on the highs and lows of this week.

Here are this week's posts in case you've missed them...

Monday morning C woke up with a fever. Throughout the day, I was able to control it as long as I keep giving him medicine. Late that evening, I noticed he sounded hoarse but thought it was because he was tired. Nope. Not the case. Tuesday gave us a Croup diagnosis and pretty much controlled the majority of our week. As of this morning, we've been fever free for nearly 36 hours. C still has a cough but we are on the mend for sure.

Cooler months tend to lead to tons of baking. Join the ladies of Tuesday Talk for a Cookie Swap Blog Hop. I have a couple ideas of what I plan to share that day but overall, I'm really excited to snag some new recipes to add to my arsenal.

This summer I was lucky enough to attend a Harry Connick Jr. concert. My love of Harry runs deep. When I was in 6th grade, I had a "Hope Floats" themed birthday party so when One2One offered me a chance to listen and review his newest open (which is available today), I was all over it! I mean... it's Justin Matisse we are talking about here folks! But anyway, "That Would Be Me" is hands down my favorite album of 2015. This record gives you the Harry we know and love as musician but it's a bit more honest, a bit raw than usual, making me dig his music so much more. We got a preview of it this summer when we saw him in concert but it didn't do the record justice. If jazz/pop/rock is your thing, you have got to pick up this album. And because I love listening to his voice, here is an interview with Harry regarding the story behind the song "Do You Really Need Her?".

Because C is feeling better, I hope to be able to run a few errands today. I plan to treat myself to a few must have Fall goodies (mostly in the form of caffeine). But I want to give you a chance to treat yourself, too! The following lovely ladies have joined me for a $100 Target gift card giveaway. Let's face it...Target has it all. Treat yourself to some new clothes, accessories, shoes, or home decor. Go ahead and're worth it!

Happy Friday, friends!

 I participated in the That Would Be Me album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided an album to review but all opinions are my own.
