The Awesome Link Up: August Edition

Can you believe that we are almost half-way through August? Crazy, right? RIGHT! September ushers in Fall and with Fall comes birthdays, holidays and then the main event CHRISTMAS! Before our hectic season kicks in, I wanna focus on the awesomeness that is the here and now in our lives. Sometimes just taking in the fun parts of every day life gives us a much needed reminder of how blessed our lives really are.

Within the next couple months Connor and I will be spending a bit more time apart than we are accustomed to. While I'm at MOPS, he will be in childcare and then school with start and he will be away from me for 3 hours every Tuesday/Thursday. Before we find ourselves having time apart, we've been spending just one on one together at home during the week. While we still have play dates and visit with friends, we have been spending 2 days a week just hanging out together. These days spent at home have quickly became my favorite days of the week.

Maybe it's because I was used to the horrid heat of ATX but the past week has been amazing weather wise. We've been able to turn off the AC, open windows and doors and enjoy the fresh, cool air each morning and evening. Family time spent outdoors has been even more enjoyable because the temp is usually hanging out around 75 or so. PERFECTION!

Speaking of cooler weather, I've been pulling together ideas for our bucket list and man oh man am I so damn excited! We haven't celebrated Fall in Ohio as a family of 3 before so you know I'm going to go all out. James, this is your warning! Weekends will be packed full of memory making adventures. I really hope to take in as many festivals and pumpkin themed events as our schedule allows.

Making friends has never been my strong suit. However since becoming a Mom, I've just put myself (and Connor J) out there and in doing so have planted this seeds of friendship and I can't wait to see how they grow over the next 2-3 years. Between play dates, MNO and MOPS, I feel as if are family is going to flourish this year and for years to come. For those of you Moms looking to branch out a little, see if there is a local MOPS branch you can join. If that's not your thing, I get it. Maybe ask a classmate's Mom to coffee. Just make the effort, I promise you there are other mothers out there looking for friendships, too!

As if me planning for the new year comes as a surprise! I have a handful of project and ideas in the works and I can't wait to tackle them and share them with you. I love the start of the new year. Not because I'm good at meeting goals or even resolutions but because a new year gives you another chance at getting it right. But starting in 2016, I'm going to have 3-4 themed posts that are monthly regulars. Each will have a little more behind the scene content. I am also cutting back on sponsorships and product reviews. I'm looking to get back to the basics of blogging.

There you have! Some awesome thoughts from this week! Happy weekend friends!
