When I stumbled across the Books & Blogger swap when visiting Angie's blog, my book-lovin' heart nearly burst with excitement. The moment I discovered I could join a book swap, I signed up and added 10-15 books to my wish list, hoping to get some good reads!
I have been slacking on reading this year. I don't know what it is but I have zero time to sit down and read. I'm currently reading The Ship of Brides by Jojo Moyes. While I'm a huge fan of Jojo, this book has been a tough one for me. It may have something to do with the fact that I can barely read more than 5 pages at a time. #momproblems, right?
But back to the swap... I was partnered with Kaylee of Chair in the Shade and have to say, she did a pretty good job of finding me books that I am looking forward to reading. Maybe they will be the push I need to get through The Ship of Brides. Here is what Kaylee send me:
The rules of the swap are as follows: Your package must include ...
- A book from your partner's wishlist.
- A book you have read and loved.
- A book you haven't read, but think looks interesting. (Can also be on their wishlist.)
- *Optional* Other book-related goodies.
My wishlist book was The Dinner. I can't wait to read this book. It's been on my Goodread's To Read list for the longest of times. Now that I own it, maybe I will actually get to read it. A book that Kaylee has read and loved is The Lights Between Oceans. Like The Dinner, I've been eying this book for a while. She sent me her copy that she just read and said she hoped I liked it as much as she did. Me too, Kaylee! For the book she hasn't read but thinks looks interesting I received two: Promises to Keep and The Mother-Daughter Book Club. Since my partner sent me a used book, she thought it would be nice to get a new, 4th book! Such a kind gesture.
Now, I have 4 new books to add to my never ending bookshelf. As of right now, I'm in the middle of 3 different books. My goal is to get those knocked out over the next month and tackle one of the 4 Kaylee sent me. What are you reading right now? While I have more than enough options on my desk to choose from, I'm always on the lookout for a good read!
