My 2015 Word

When I sat down to create my 2015 goals, I knew I wanted to challenge myself. To push myself more than ever before. I want to look back on 2015 and see that as a person and family, we kicked it up a notch and really accomplished something. I created a fairly manageable list and plan to work on achieving each goal month after month.

Soon after creating my list of goals, I thought to myself "What will I need to do to make each of these goals happen this year?". While reading some blogs and browsing Facebook, I noticed that folks have chosen words to express their plans for the new year. Maybe I, too, needed a 2015 word. Once that ties into the goals I have set for myself and our family. I took a few days and finally landed on my 2015 word.
Without focus, how will I accomplish my goals? How does anyone carry out their goals if they lack focus? This year, my overall goals is to simply focus. Focus on...

+ creating a healthy, active diet and lifestyle
+ spending less and saving more
+ growing as a person, wife, mother, daughter and friend
+ enjoying my hobbies
+ making memories as a family
+ organizing our lives and home

Often times, I start the year off doing really well with my goals then things fizzle out. In 2014, I totally rocked my goals until August. Something about the hottest month of the year coupled with the upcoming busy Fall we had planned caused me to lose momentum and I just lost focus. There's that word again. Focus.

In 2015, it's all about focusing on our goals, our dreams, our wants. To create a balanced lifestyle that cultivates happiness and health for our family.

What's your goals for 2015? Do you have a word picked out for your new year?

  7. Focus is definitely a great word for 2015!! One of my goals for 2015 is to learn to say "no". I always jam pack our schedule because I want to be able to do it all since we don't have much free time... but this year I am totally going to focus on not saying yes to everything so that my husband and I can have some time together just the two of us
