Meet Kringle {Our Family Elf}

For Connor's first Christmas, when he was just shy of 2 months old, we bought him the Elf on the Shelf. I don't think the shelf ever made it out of the box let alone to a shelf that year. Last year, I did get him out, gave him a name - KRINGLE - and he sat on our mantel the entire month of December. He was more of a decoration than a tool in helping our then 1 year old to behave for Santa. However, this year... this year is a whole new story. Kringle is here and he is LARGE AND IN CHARGE.

Day 1 || Kringle brought Christmas cheer to our home. The tree was up the mantle was decorated.
Day 2 || It wouldn't be the holidays without some festive clothing and diapers!
Day 3 || Kringle surprised CJ with a trip to the Waco Zoo.
Day 4 || The countdown to Christmas has begun. We've started filling in our Santa's beard.
Day 5 || How sweet! Kringle left C an "I love you" candy message.
Day 6 || Santa's workshop is mess! Connor helped straighten it up while Kringle supervised.
Day 7 || Chocolate milk and donuts for breakfast courtesy of our sugar lovin' elf.
Day 8 || Kringle is sharing his story with Jake and his pirate friends.

Connor is loving all the fun Kringle brings his way. It's been fun thinking of things to do with Kringle, that will put a smile on C's face. I've vowed to not spend money on Kringle and his antics. So far, I've been able to plan our activities with items we have on hand. It's been a fun challenge for me to see what I can come up with. Each morning, Connor asks to read his note from Kringle. James whipped up a cute little letter head in Word and I've been just using it since:

Be sure to follow our Christmas fun on Instagram. You can find out what Kringle is up to by using #KringleChristmas2014. I've been using #CFamilyMemories for 2 years now so you can see what Connor was up to this time last year by searching that hash tag as well.

Happy Friday, friends!

    1. He is loving every minute of it. He keeps calling him a her so maybe our elf is a lady. I'll have to do some investigating.

  4. You've come up with some awesome ideas. And ones I'll likely use in the future. Right now our elf just kind of moves around. Maybe next year he'll get crafty and creative. After days of no naps and whatnot this momma is lucky to get Teu (Marcus names our elf 'two' - I had to get creative with the spelling) from one spot to the next.

    1. I just think of things we have around the house or things I think Connor would have fun with. So far, I'm hitting it out of the park. Let's hope I can keep it up.

    1. Connor just turned 2 so I think if your little one is close to that, he will have a ball with it.

  6. As you know, I'm no Elf fan HOWEVER, I am going to give you props on Kringle. I love that you're using him for just good clean fun instead of relying on him so much as a behavior "Santa's watching or else" type of thing. Go Kringle, go! Have a good weekend, love! XO

    1. Thanks! Is Hunter just having the time of his life with it? Connor told the lady at our grocery store that Kringle was reading to Jake and they all went to sleep. It's been so fun and I just love how much he enjoys it.

  11. Love the new look. These colors are great!

Kringle and Bob would be BFF's! I love the letter head. SO much fun and so neat that Kringle is almost as old as Connor :). That will make for a VERY special elf someday.
