10 Must Watch Christmas Movies

The holidays don’t start for me until I watch my favorite Christmas movie. But off course, you can’t just stop with one, you need to watch some of the classics. This is the time of year there is no shortage of options, as many channels will be showing holiday movies all day and night. However, there are a few movies that hold up year after year. My must watch movies of the season include something for every member of the family.
Did you notice I only listed 9? That's because I kept my all time favorite out.
Which Christmas movie is a MUST WATCH for you and your family? And don't forget to check out this post where I share ABC Family's Christmas movie lineup.

  1. My all time favorite is white christmas but I also love miracle on 34th street and it's a wonderful life. I know I'm in the minority here but I'm not a huge fan of elf..lol. I think it's funny but its kind of if I watch it fine, if I don't fine. Crazy I know.

    1. So I can only watch Elf once and then I'm done. I'm not a big fan of Will Ferrell but some of the lines in the movie are pretty funny. And I finally watched White Christmas and it was so good. It's a new favorite for sure.

  2. Aww love this! I haven't purchased any Christmas movies for Marli, but we have seen a Mickey Mouse Christmas on tv and she loved it. I think she would like the Charlie Brown movie :) I would like to go purchase some books for her and read one each night leading up to the 25th :)

    1. We are giving up cable when we move and I hope and PRAY Netflix has some Christmas movies because if not, I may experience withdrawal.

  5. I love 'em all!! We are big, big, HUGE fans of Christmas Vacation (which is not exactly what I'd consider kid friendly) and A Christmas Story (which is only good if you're 16 years or older).

  6. This is a wonderful list of movies! It's hard to trim down a favorite list to just 10 because they are all so good and special in their own way. I should know considering I was on your wavelength for today's post, haha! ;-) Damn, now I just want to ditch work and watch movies all day!

    1. I'd like to just ditch all kinds of responsibilities and watch every Christmas related film I can find. I am a Christmas nut and I love being able to watch just good movies this time of year.

  7. I've never seen Santa is Coming to Town. Love all the others though! I've been itching to watch It's a Wonderful Life, and I hear it's on Netflix right now.

  8. I LOVE that you put Home Alone on the list. Last year I dug around my parents house until I found an old VHS copy of it!

    1. Okay... I'm going to put the out there... I am not a fan of the Muppet's. At all. James is and tries to push it off on Connor but so far, he isn't buying it either.

  14. We've barely watched any Christmas movies this year! I taped Elf and was mildly cuushed when Mason would not sit still longer than 5 minutes to watch it. I just love that movie.

    1. I can only handle it once and then I'm done. But I'm not a fan of Will Ferrell. Does that make you love me less?

  15. My favorite is The Santa Clause, followed closely by White Christmas and Elf. Those are my top 3, and also Charlie Brown has to be watched at some point too :) I don't count that as a full movie since it's only about 30 min.
