Fall Family Bucket List: GIVE THANKS

With Thanksgiving just days away, I specifically saved the bucket list task of giving thanks for this week. The obvious choice is to write about the upcoming holiday and all I am thankful for. And while I am so thankful for so much - my husband, my son, our blessed life, my family and friends - there is something else I want to give thanks to today.

When I decided to start blogging, I never imagine I would one day fly to San Diego and meet two strangers I connected with via blogging and spend a Friday night laughing, sharing, indulging and making the best memories.

I would love to think I will get another chance to spend time with Desiree and Liz in the future. But with them in California and me heading back to Ohio, the odds are slim. But that's what's so awesome about the Internet and modern technically. Not only can we keep in touch with through the posts we share here on Blogger but we can connect on Facebook, Instragram and even better, by phone! Isn't group text just the best?

But back to giving thanks... I am so thankful to be in a place where not only can I afford to spend a weekend in sunny SoCal but that I was able to spend it with 3 girlfriends that I truly feel like will always be my girlfriends, no matter what comes our way, if I'm blogging or not. Friendships are just as important as family. So this Thanksgiving when you are spending the day with your loved ones, be sure to reach out to your friends... because friends are the family we choose.

    1. My only regret is that it was only for 7 hours... I would have loved to have a whole weekend with these ladies.

  2. "Friends are the family we choose" - it's so true and I'm learning more and more (especially in the past year) how important to me my friendships are - both blogging friendships, IRL friendships, and the blogging friendships that I'd love to become IRL ones!

    1. Very much so. Sometimes, the only people you can really relate to our some of your closest friends so you can't forget them on the day of thanks.

  8. I had the best time with you ladies. Like I told Liz, I had all these plans to take all these pictures of our little adventure, but instead I found I was simply having too much fun, and having the best conversations, to even think about my camera.
Blogging has been such an amazing experience, and I'm so incredibly thankful for the wonderful friends I've made in this community.
I hope that meet-up wasn't our one and only.

  11. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet you both also! And so thankful that I stumbled upon your blog however many months ago and co-hosted the summer bucket list and met Desiree and now we have all met in real life! Meeting up was so awesome. It felt like we had known each other for forever and not just met for the first time. So happy to have formed these in real life friendships with you both! And like Desiree said... I hope this wasn't the only time we will meet in person! xoxo
