Public Service Annoucement - Christmas TV

I usually don't post on Sundays but with the first of December tomorrow {how? what? #slowdown}, I wanted to share with you ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas lineup. If you are like me, you will have one full DVR this December. We started early with a showing of Despicable Me. Connor loves those {creepy} Minions thanks to Pharrell's 'Happy'.

Here's the program highlights starting tomorrow and ending on December 25th.

Also, if you are a fan of Peter Pan or have a pirate lovin' little one in your home, be sure to watch or DVR Peter Pan Live on NBC Thursday Night.

We watched the Making of Peter Pan Live and I'll be the first to admit, I can not wait to watch the show this week. I've been singing "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" all week long.

There is my public service announcement on what you need to be watching this Christmas, starting with Captain Hook and Peter Pan!

Happy Sunday, friends!

All about that Christmas

It's Black Friday which means only one thing: BRING ON CHRISTMAS!

I respected the turkey to the fullest extent. I waited until AFTER Thanksgiving dinner to decorate our home and put up our Christmas tree. So now be prepared for loads of Christmas on Wife Mommy Me and every single social media outlet I'm registered with. So what's coming up for December and Christmas? Let me share a few things with you...

We are incorporating the Elf on The Shelf this year with Connor. I'm hoping that it goes as planned and I don't stress myself out trying to work Kringle {our elf} into our daily routine. I'll be sharing our Kringle adventures with you over the next 20 some days so if my cute kid and Christmas ain't your thing... #sorryImnotsorry

I'm also doing a fun Christmas photo challenge. Details can be found HERE. I am really looking forward to completing my first holiday photo challenge and I would love to have you join me.

And to kick off Christmas in true fashion, here is a peek of our night with Santa.

It wasn't a total bust but I would have loved a more cozy photo of the duo. Connor didn't lose it but he wasn't really sure of Santa either. He did get close enough to tell Santa he wants a green race car so now we have an idea of one gift that better be under our Christmas tree come December 25th.

Today, we are going to be enjoy a family fun day with trains, {fake} snow and Christmas lights in our downtown center. It's safe to say, the Cox family is knee deep in celebrating Christmas and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Happy Friday!

What I'm Thankful For

+ being loved by my Heavenly Father no matter what I've done to fall short of His glory
+ my husband and all he does for Connor and I without question or hesitation
+ Connor... for giving me a purpose. For teaching me that I, too, can do amazing things
+ a family that loves me even when I'm not that lovable
+ friends that allow for me to confide in, to lean on and to laugh with
+ having a roof over our heads and food in our bellies
+ the ability to speak my mind and share my opinion without fear of persecution
+ days spent at home, making memories and living in the moment
+ a good book that allows me leave the real world for a bit
+ knowing that a chaotic day is always followed by one that offers redemption

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Fall Family Bucket List: GIVE THANKS

With Thanksgiving just days away, I specifically saved the bucket list task of giving thanks for this week. The obvious choice is to write about the upcoming holiday and all I am thankful for. And while I am so thankful for so much - my husband, my son, our blessed life, my family and friends - there is something else I want to give thanks to today.

When I decided to start blogging, I never imagine I would one day fly to San Diego and meet two strangers I connected with via blogging and spend a Friday night laughing, sharing, indulging and making the best memories.

I would love to think I will get another chance to spend time with Desiree and Liz in the future. But with them in California and me heading back to Ohio, the odds are slim. But that's what's so awesome about the Internet and modern technically. Not only can we keep in touch with through the posts we share here on Blogger but we can connect on Facebook, Instragram and even better, by phone! Isn't group text just the best?

But back to giving thanks... I am so thankful to be in a place where not only can I afford to spend a weekend in sunny SoCal but that I was able to spend it with 3 girlfriends that I truly feel like will always be my girlfriends, no matter what comes our way, if I'm blogging or not. Friendships are just as important as family. So this Thanksgiving when you are spending the day with your loved ones, be sure to reach out to your friends... because friends are the family we choose.

Sunshine Blogger Award

Back in October, my sweet lady friend Desiree nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Now that Fall has finally arrived, the sun is hit or miss in these parts so what better time to spread some sunshine than with today's post. Have you heard about the award? It's a way to spread positivity, encouraging words and in general just a fun way for my readers to get to know me a little more.

Here are the 10 questions Desiree offered up for me to answer:

For purely selfish reasons, what is your favorite go-to dinner dish? I've long since run out of new, easy, good recipes, and looking to add to our weekly staple rotation! This is so easy for me to answer. I love this easy Chicken, Potato and Green Bean dish. It's quick to prepare and cooks in the oven in an hour. James and I love it and Connor, well he is 2 and doesn't like much.

When someone asks for a book recommendation, what is the one book you always suggest? In January, I read 'Me Before You' by Jojo Moyes. It's an amazing read. I loved every single minute of it. You will laugh, you will cry, you will go through the ringer with your emotions. Actually, everything written by Jojo is amazing. Check her out.

Name a talent you have that others probably don't know about. No talents but I take OCD to a whole new level. It's like in my DNA and Connor has inherited a bit of it so... that's interesting.

Sunsets or sunrises? Sunsets... I'm a morning person but not that much of a morning person so I love a good sunset. Something about the ending of one day and the start of another, allowing for a new fresh start.

The best way to unwind after a long day is… with a good book and a cozy blanket. I'm a total homebody and bookworm so ending the day snuggled up in a blanket, reading a book sounds heavenly too me.

Any guilty pleasures? Reality TV and celebrating birthdays. I have no shame in spending a week or more celebrating someone's birthday. It's just so much fun for me and I love making other feel loved.

What is a character trait you hope people associate with you? Honest. I try to be kind in doling out my opinion but I also want folks to know they can come to me for an honest answer, opinion or advice. The world is full of wish wash and I love knowing that I can be a point of honesty when friends and loved ones need it most.

Favorite words to live by? Be the person you want your children to be.

If you could go to dinner with any one person (alive or deceased) who would it be, and what are two questions you would be sure to ask them? Elvis - seriously. My two questions would be 1) Marry me? and 2) Does tomorrow work for you? I've been in awe of Elvis since I was a little girl. I know, it's strange but really, I would love to have been one of his groupies. Maybe even his favorite one.

The last concert you attended that you insist others must see, too. I hope you are sitting down... I've seen both Lionel Ritchie and Kenny Rogers and both put on an excellent show. Lionel makes it a party and Mr. Rogers is hilarious. If you have the chance and want to experience something outside your normal pick, both are highly recommended.

Your favorite blog post - be it yours, or a post written by someone else. Courtney, who blogs over at Shiraz In My Sippy Cup, shared some advice on parenting in THIS POST. While she isn't a parenting expert - who is - she gives some really great advice and food for thought. I know as a first time Momma, I would have loved to have heard most of this prior to welcoming Connor into the world.

And now, it's time for me to pass along the sunshine and nominate a some fellow bloggers:

Suzanna // One Hoolie Mama

Here are the questions for the ladies I've nominated:

What always makes you laugh?
Proudest Moment?
How do you like to spend your birthday?
Favorite junk food:
What did you want to be when you were little?
What did you actually become?
List 3 characteristics you admire in yourself:
All-time favorite movie?
Diamonds or pearls?
Are you a morning or night person?

And if you didn't get nominated, no worries! Answers the above questions and spread some sunshine yourself!

A BIG Step & Giveaway

Ladies and gentlemen (and by gentlemen, I mean James. Hi honey!), I finally did it. I decided to add sponsored ads on Wife Mommy Me. Now, before you think "Oh here we go, another sell out", let's take a minute and look at the big picture.

Like most bloggers, I spend A TON of time working on Wife Mommy Me and networking within the blogging community. One of those connections has led me to waiting to attend a blogger conference next year in Indianapolis - perfect timing since we are moving north, right? The Influence Conference offers a way for friends to meet for the first time in real life, in a safe environment. It provides tools and resources for writers to take their brand and ideas to the next level. It teaches communicators how to make their voice heard, how to make their voice count. It creates opportunities for people to make a difference and give back to the community. A single ticket to the conference is $300. As a single income family, I can't bring myself to spend that type of money on a blogging conference.

Having said that, I thought what better way to pay for the conference than to have my readers sponsor Wife Mommy Me. Not only will you be growing your connections within the blogging community with my help but I would attend the event and bring back to you, my readers and fellow bloggers, information and helpful tips to take your blog to the next level.

But of course, there are so many people out there you could give your money to and who could promote your blog. Why me? Well because if there is anyone who knows what it takes to grow your blog, it's me. I've poured my heart and soul into Wife Mommy Me and I would love to see it grow, with your help of course.

I've added sponsor options to my Let's Connect page. Check them out and maybe sign up to have me work for you. For as little as 4 bucks we can make blogging magic! No pressure at all because starting today, I have a giveaway that gives one lucky winner 4 months FREE sponsorship to Wife Mommy Me. I need feedback from those I've sponsored and what better way to earn it than with giving you something for FREE for your honest review on how I treated you as a sponsor.

It's a big step for this little blog of mine. I will still be me though, don't you worry. Be sure to enter for your chance to win. I can't wait to work with each of you!

Fall Family Bucket List: Enjoy A Fall Drink

I was never much of a coffee drinker. The smell got to me a bit and I couldn't handle the bitter taste most drinks left behind. Then we decided to have a baby. A baby who is up at 7:15 every. single. day. without fail. One that matured into a 2 year that goes and goes and goes. So the rational thing to do was to pick up a speed coffee habit. While, I'm still new to the world of coffee, I've found that you can never go wrong with a White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks. And what goes better with a grande WCM with whip than a little train play at our local book store.

Connor loves visiting Barnes and Noble and playing with the train table. He could easily spend an hour just pushing Thomas, Percy and friends around the tracks. Momma grabs a coffee from the in-store Starbucks and reads a little while enjoying a hot coffee while little man plays. On our first visit, I browsed the kids books - HOLY SMOKES! there are tons to choose from - and found "Stephanie's Ponytail". Read it, loved it. I would say it's loosely based on a childhood experience.

When Thomas gets boring, we move to the Lego table and then spend 20-30 minutes "shopping" through their toy aisle. Can I tell you that C loves "shopping"? And the best part is, he doesn't lose it when I tell him to put such and such back on the shelf. He doesn't really expect me to purchase things for him, he just likes checking everything out. #childoftheyear

60 to 90 minutes later, I've finished my coffee and C is ready to head home for a snack/lunch/nap. It's the easiest morning ever and everyone is happy. Did you know that Barnes & Noble has children events at their locations? Coming up on December 1, our hometown location is offering Dr. Seuss Grinch Day with story time and activities. C and I will be there so "join" us. Check out their site and see if your local store is hosting a Grinch Day as well.

The Bouqs Company - Flower Review

Who doesn't love fresh flowers? When I was working outside the house, James would send me flowers for my birthday, our anniversary and sometimes just because. I loved the show affection and let's be honest, flowers are an easy way to show someone that you care. So when The Bouqs Company contacted me about reviewing their flowers, I was beyond excited. I mean, free flowers for my honest review? Sign me up! After a few minutes on their website, I found myself in a small crisis. How was I going to pick from all the beautiful choices they had? Every bouquet is BEAUTIFUL! Here are a few of my favorites.

Placing your order for your bouquet is ridiculously easy. All you do is add the bouquet of your choice to your cart - the tough part is choosing from the Original, Deluxe or Grand Bouqs - fill in who it is for and what their address is and then add a personalized message that the recipient will read when they receive their gorgeous flowers. Pay for your purchase, enjoying FREE SHIPPING, and sit back and wait for the huge thank you you will receive for sending beautiful flowers to your loved one.

Wondering which Bouqs I choose? Since I love Fall, the colors of the season and the kick off to my favorite time of year - THE HOLIDAYS -, I chose this beautiful Dawn bouquet.

Interested in ordering flowers for someone special in your life? Click HERE to shop over 60 bouqs to find the perfect flower for your giftee. Have you missed a birthday or special occasion in the past? The Bouqs' Concierge Service helps you remember occasions worth celebrating with flowers. The Golden Vlog - Part 2: Thanksgiving

I recorded yet another vlog. Somehow, I use the phrase ya'll like I'm from the south and I noticed it in today's vlog. Someone send help, I'm slowly becoming Southern.
I love the idea of a little recorded Q&A. While I'm not 100% comfortable in front of a camera nor do I think I make a lot of sense sometimes, there is something liberating about recording a vlog and then posting it on the world wide web for every Tom, Dick and Harry to watch. As unnerving as it was to record and share my first vlog, this months wasn't as painful. I went with my second take and thought, this is as good as it gets. Also? I say bullshit. My bad.

I've answered the following questions in this months vlog:
  1. What is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
  2. Do you travel to be with family or do they come to you?
  3. Do you have the traditional Thanksgiving dinner or something different and unique? If so, what is it?
  4. What's the must have item for Thanksgiving dinner?
  5. Do you decorate for Christmas Thanksgiving weekend?
  6. Are you a Black Friday shopper? If so... do you go crazy early or sleep in and miss the crowds?
  7. Have a favorite recipe? Care to share?
  8. What are you most thankful for this year?
