Lord, Teach Me to Study the Bible - Blog Bible Study

When Mariel from Living For His Glory mentioned doing a blog Bible study, I was totally on board. While I don't want to push my thoughts and feelings regarding religion on anyone else, this is my blog and I feel like I can bring anything to the table and if you get something from what I share during this study then awesome. If not, that's perfectly okay, as well.

Mariel choose "Lord, Teach Me to Study the Bible in 28 Days" by Kay Arthur. In just 28 days readers learn how to
  • study the Bible book by book and understand what they are reading
  • recognize key words and concepts in the Bible
  • discover the main point of any passage of Scripture
  • discern God's purpose and apply life-changing truths to everyday life
The biggest part that sold me on this study and book more than anything else is that it's geared to those who want to learn how to read the Bible, front to back. It teaches you the key steps to truly knowing what's written within the pages of the Bible. So if you've never attended or been a part of a Bible study, this one is perfect for you.

The book study will start Monday, October 13. We will be posting on Mondays every week, on what the Lord is teaching us through this study, with our first post going up on Monday, October 20. There will be no questions or writing prompts with this study. The goal is for you to share what you're getting from the Bible study, how you are relating to the Scripture. Arthur gives short assignments to complete at the end of each sections so that would be great talking (writing) points when you share your thoughts with a blog post. We will also be using the hash tag #teachmetostudythebible during this study, so that we can follow each other daily and give each other daily encouragement.

Please let me know if you will be following along! I'll be sharing my journey from October 13 to November 10 on Instagram so please follow along and share what you've learned. I am really looking forward to growing through this study and I would love to do it with you by my side.

  1. Awesome. I would totally join in if I hadn't just dove head first into a pretty intense study myself. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures though :).

  2. I look forward to reading your posts. I have felt a desire to start a daily devotion but - oh this is going to sound horrible- but I wanted to start small so as to not get overwhelmed and it just become a task, so I am using an app that I cannot remember the name of that gives like 1-2 paragraphs to read twice a day. It has already made my days better because I am thinking about God's word more than before!
