Fall Family Bucket List: A Nature Walk

With the start of October, the Austin area was treated to Fall{ish} temperatures for a few days. With more enjoyable days amongst us, I knew that this weekend would be a great time for a nature walk with the boys.

One of the things to love about the area we live in is there is no shortage of biking/running/walking paths at our disposal. My favorite park is Champion Park in Cedar Park. Not only does is have a sand pit and dinosaur fossils but it connects to Brushy Creek Park that has a great splash pad and covered playground. On Sunday, the fellas and I packed our bags and headed out to take in the sun, cooler weather and an afternoon walk.

We walked through Champion Park which gave us view of Brushy Creek, rock walls, which we all know Connor is crazy about, along with trips over bridges, another favorite of Connor's. Walking to and from Champion Park took about 25 minutes. Connor played on the play scape and then we headed back to Champion so that we could play in the sand for a bit before heading home.

Since it was a perfectly sunny day, we spent some time in the sand, digging with our "scopes" and racing trucks and cars. On the way to the car, Daddy James and CJ played had fun with their shadows. Connor has entered the stage of monkey see, monkey do. He loves being like his Daddy so fun with shadows it was.

What fun Fall activities have you checked off your bucket list? Be sure to link up with Desiree, Elizabeth and I.

  1. I love fall. The weather is great and there are so many fun things to do! I'm hosting a pumpkin carving party with some people from my church. We also have a really great farm nearby that has a big playground and pumpkin patch every year. I can't wait to take our baby girl (due in November) there next year. For now, most of my fall days are being spent in baby preparation. :)

  9. That park rocks my face off. When the temperatures dip below Hell (which will probably be January) we'll be heading out for a nice little hike of our own.
