Throwback Thursday - A Day out with Thomas

Last September, we had a date with Thomas the Train! As little as Connor was, just 11 months, I thought there was no way we could skip the chance to the experience the world famous steam engine up close and personal.

Tommy Boy looks exactly like he does on his show. I don't know why I was surprised by this but I was. I won't lie, it was just as fun for James and I to experience meeting Thomas along with Connor. I mean, Thomas is famous, you know? Also? I broke a rule by snapping this photo. Who know it was "illegal" to take a photo of a train you are paying to see and ride?

Prior to boarding the train, we enjoyed a snack while watching a magic show and some Thomas the Train themed music. We had the chance to meet Sir. Topham Hatt but the line was ridiculous and they charged you for their photo. Thanks but no thanks. We were there to see Tom anyways.

As train ride itself was approximately 15 minutes. Connor stood in my lap, watching the world go by. He was just amazed by it all.

Until he found something shiny and then that took precedence over Thomas and the sights and sounds of a train ride.

See that frame worthy Jr. Engineer Certificate? Well that's the only time you will. Minutes later, Connor crumbled it up and as far as I know, we tossed it before heading home. Paper and an 11 month old don't really mix well, you know?

It's safe to say Connor was a little too young for a day out with Thomas but the hour we spent there was worth the drive and as always, we will take any opportunity to make memories with our little guy. Now that Connor is 22 months, I think he would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Thomas again. Now, just to convince Daddy we need to go again!

  3. I SO want to do this!!! But they don't have one near us. I'm SO bummed! It's kinda far away but I just might try to go anyway (if I can convince Seth that we should drive that far...) because I think Mason would LOVE it!

    1. If you do it at least once it's worth the drive. And Mason would love it.

    1. It's such a fun experience. Especially since it's something that we can do just a couple times, throughout a few years.

  9. We met Thomas last year, too! And, we even managed to snag an "illegal" photo with us in front of Thomas. That was definitely frowned upon. #sorrynotsorry I know Marcus doesn't remember much (any) of that experience, so we'll have to do it again, too.

    1. I want to do it again but think we will pass this year and try it again next year. The older he gets the more enjoyment he will get from it.
