Football Friday

If you've been a fan of Wife Mommy Me for any period of time, it goes as no surprise that I'm a huge fan of football. From first kick off to the playoff games played during cold and rainy November, there is absolutely nothing to not love about the game. What's not to love about grown men chasing each other up and down the field? Here's a little about my love for the game...

My college team of choose has been and no matter how messy they are one AND off the filed, THE Ohio State University. This year hasn't started off so great but that's just one game and they can get their act together and make things happen for the remainder of the season. O! H! ...

I've been a Cincinnati Bengals fan for as long as I can remember and no matter how the season ends, I will always be cheering for my team - Cardio Cats, anybody? Erin, the host of today's fun linkup pinned this perfect Bengals themed poem and it's perfect for my love of all things Who Dey! ...

Orange and black, it's what I bleed,
No other colors will I need.
The Bengals are my team through and through,
If you aren't a fan, well psh- forget you!

Remember this picture of me and my youngest brother at his college graduation? Well not only is he an academic bad ass BUT he played 16 years of football. Started in first grade and ended this past season as a Senior in college. Impressive, right? I've been cheering him on for HALF of my life. Crazy! Thanks to CA and my Dad, I've know more about football than most ladies. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

And lastly, we have these photo of Connor J. Can we take a minute and just take in all that is Connor as a barely 1 year old? Heart melted into the world's biggest muddle. My love of football is being passed down to our sweet CJ with each game we watch on the weekends. Back story: when we were picking his name, I said that I wanted something that could be shorten into a nickname worthy of a football player. CJ fit my needs perfectly! And I can't wait to watch our little guy on the field one day. He has it in his genes to be greatness. Just like his Uncle Stevie and Chet.

Are you a football fan? It's okay if you aren't. I mean, it's just that I might think you are crazy to not be but I promise, no hard feelings. If you are, I love for you to share with me what you love most about the game!

Happy Friday!

  1. I love me some college football too but I don't think we can be friends during football season? I've got nothing against the Bengals - I even lived in Cincinnati for a year! But this OSU thing... we need to have a talk. What's that they're calling it these days? An intervention? Ok I'm just kidding! Love seeing another football fan in blog world! It must be a midwest thing :)

  2. Football, football! Right? What isn't to love? You know who isn't into football? My husband! Whaaaa. I've loved football for years, so way back in high school I was like man some guy is going to be lucky because I'm totally down with watching football. Nope, guess not! I'm hoping Aria will be my football buddy.

p.s. Courtney (from Shiraz in my Sippy Cup) guest posted today and mentioned you! Sharing the love!

  3. So I don't exactly like football..... but that's cool right lol. To each his own. We are more of a NASCAR family. I know, I know most people don't get NASCAR. But again to each his own.

Courtney^ bahaha. That is hilarious and adorable.

Those pictures of Connor, seriously that is like the cutest thing ever. Here's to you being a future football mom :)!

    Have an awesome weekend!

    1. So I used to watch NASCAR with my Dad when I was at home. I still do if there is a race on and he is watching it.

  4. I loved going to football games in high school...probably partially because I had a HUGE crush on the QB.... But I digress. I'm not all that into football anymore, but I'll watch it with the hubby.

    1. I hope Connor plays one day but if he doesn't, I'll just have to love the QB and go to watch him play.

  5. It's Football Friday tonight around our house too! My hubby is a high school science teacher and we like to take the kids to the game so he can spend time with us while supporting his students.
That's impressive your brother played all those years of football! I know when I was an athlete, having my family there cheering me on meant SO much to me! I'm sure he appreciated all your support!

  6. Kristian went to VA Tech so needless to say he was very happy last weekend wen they beat Ohio State. Part of me was hoping they would lose simply because they are playing MY team tomorrow and I'm not feeling real confident about it.

    1. You should have been confident because ECU showed up! Unlike OSU.

  7. That picture of Connor is adorable! I just started getting into football a couple years ago, and I love it! My husband is a University of Alabama fan, so I root for them. I love watching the games and having a team to support. Plus, it's fun to get cute shirts with the team name on them. I also love that it's something for my husband and I to do together, and he gets to teach me about the sport. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Aww!! I love football especially if I can actually be at the game! I'm a Ravens fan (and i'm so glad they got rid of Ray Rice!) but I do love college football better! Like your brother, my brother played football as well as my hubby, my dad, and my grandfather! It's in our blood I guess lol

  10. First of all, that picture of Connor. Seriously? You're melting my heart into a muddle!
Second of all... I can't say that I am overly a fan of football BUT I am a fan of the fact that I get to be included in my husband's (non-monetary) football pool at work. Oh and I'm a fan of the fact that I often beat the boys (and have no idea what I'm doing!!!). So I guess you could say I am a football season fan :)
