22 Months - 8.30.14

Sweet sweet Connor James,
Let me start by saying one thing... YOU ARE SO MUCH DANG FUN!

Life with you lately has been absolutely perfect. Like so much so that I can't help but wonder if when we go through our next rough patch if it's going to be a bad one. But until that happens, I'm going to sit back and enjoy all that is you, baby boy.

You are starting to look less and less like a baby and more like a big boy. We visited the pediatrician early in August and you weighed 26.4 pounds and 32.5 inches tall. You wear a size 4 diaper still but once we use all that we have on hand, I'll move you up to size 5. You're wearing size 18-24 tops and bottoms mixed with a couple 2T here and there. By the end of September, I think you will be in strictly 2T. You have one big foot little guy! You can wear a size 7. Overall, you're growing and growing, getting bigger by the day.

You have been eating so well lately. You refuse to eat veggies so we hid them the best we can. Once you are a bit older, I can promise you that I will be the Mom who MAKES you sit at the table until you take a few bites of each. Sorry kiddo, you gotta eat your veggies. We are slowly switching you from sweetened almond milk to unsweetened. You were drinking sweetened for the extra calories but you don't need that now that you eat everything (minute veggies).

You love to run, to climb, to jump, to explore so that's how we spend the majority of our mornings. After lunch and nap time, we will work on colors, numbers and letters and it makes Mommy and Daddy so proud when you can count and sing your ABC's. You also know your shapes and any time you see them, you shout "triangle! square! oval!". You are one smart little guy and every day you amaze us with how intelligent you are.

Funny things you've done lately -- when talking about nap time, you said "blanket make a nap". You can't do any sleeping with your blue blanket and to you, blue blanket = nap time. Got it mister! -- late last month, you called me out for cussing and as shameful as a moment it was, you helped Momma stop cursing. Thanks little buddy. And just this weekend, you freaked out and starting crying when Daddy tried to eat some of your Cheezits. I get that you were scared, you said so yourself, but you gotta share.

I can't believe we are {this close} to celebrating your 2nd birthday. Momma and Daddy love every single day with you, even the not so fun ones. You are our whole world and we wouldn't want it any other way.

We love you sweet boy. To the moon and back.
Momma and Daddy Papa

    1. Connor is a little guy. Always has been. Neither my husband or I are tall so he isn't going to be either. He eats so much but is little anyway.

  4. He is so stinkin cute. We've been having dinner battles lately with Hunter where we make him take at least one bite of everything before he gets up and if he refuses then he's not allowed anything else to eat for the rest of the night and no t.v. or toys, only books. If he takes a bite and doesn't like it that's fine but he has to at least try it.

    1. We've been doing 2 more bites then... and it seems to help. But I refuse to turn meal time into a war so I just let it go. He eats when he is hungry so I know he gets what he needs.

  5. This is SO sweet. I love that he cried over his cheezits. I probably would too if my husband tried to steal them ;). Happy 22 months (to both of you!!!).

  7. Such a sweet post! He is so adorable. What a great idea to track everything that's happening in his life. And nice work finding a way to hide the veggies. I need to try some techniques like that on my all-grown-up fiance ;)

    1. I'm not a big green foods eater either but throw some carrots and spinach into a smoothie with some fruits and you would never know you're getting veggies.

  9. Oh my gosh, the more you post, the more I think Mason and Connor are exactly the same. They seem to weigh similar, wear similar clothes and shoes, it's crazy! Speaking of... where are his shorts and shirt from in this picture? I love them!

  10. I refuse to accept that in less than two months CJ will be 2. Not even possible.
In other news, when you figure out the whole eating veggie business be sure to share with me!
