To Our Super Mace

Dear Macie J,
Today you start preschool. Today your independence grows and you officially become a big girl. While we all knew today would come sooner or later, I could never image the last 3 and a half years with you flying by so quickly.

On the day you were born, I called off work and rushed to the hospital as soon as Mommy and Daddy told me it was okay to have visitors. Do you know that I was the first non relative to every hold you? The moment I laid eyes on you, I kissed my heart goodbye. You've been my girl since day 1 and you will always have a cheerleader in me. Promise.

Today might be a little scary. You are in a new place, away from Mommy Deanie and Daddy Mark. You don't know anyone in your class but I can promise you that you will make friends fast. Soon you will be the apple of your teacher's eye because Janie Mae, you are that kind of girl. Don't be scared, sweet Mae, you can do absolutely anything you set your mind to.

I have no doubts that you are gonna rock preschool. Not only are you smart, you pick up on things so fast that in no time flat, you'll be hitting milestone after milestone. I'm looking forward to your phone call after school today, the one where you share your day with us. Maybe you can even teach Connie a thing or two.

I wish I could be there to see you off with Mommy Dean but know that TayTay, Jamesy and Baby Connie are cheering you on all the way from Texas. We've been your biggest fans since November 23, 2010 and there is no doubt that will be cheering you on until the day we can't cheer anymore.

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”
Love you to the moon and stars!
TayTay
