Summer Bucket List Week 5: Picnic

Week 1: Water Fun
Week 4: Finger Paint
Complete Summer Bucket List is located HERE

As busy as this week has been, it's been a bit low key as well, which was ever so welcomed. Does that even make sense? Overall, it's been a great week. One that I would like to see repeated again and again. However, with so much left on our bucket list, I wasn't sure what I wanted to focus on this week. So when a friend ask us to join her and her little ones for a picnic, we jumped at the opportunity.

Before heading to the park for our picnic, Connor and I spent an hour or so at the library picking up new books and enjoying Toddler Time. If you have a little one, visit your local library! 45 minutes of playing, singing, reading and dancing makes for a great way to start the day.

Once we got to the park, the littlest ones played, while my girlfriend and I chased them and prevented them from getting too close to the water. Because as always, it's not a visit to the park without visiting with the ducks.

Once the kids ran, climbed a bridge and skipped some rocks, it was time to settled down for lunch. I was worried that Connor would be too interested in everything BUT eating but thanks to a skipped morning snack (my bad!), he was quick to settle down and get his eat on.

And to make sure lunch was a success, I packed his favorites: a peanut butter sandwich, blueberries, Pirate's Booty and some fruit snacks. We enjoyed lunch under the humid afternoon sky and then headed home to take a family nap. Hey! Mommas play hard too!

Happy Friday!

  4. We've tried a few picnics at the beach. Always, always an epic fail. Unless you enjoy the crunch of sand in every bite. Maybe we ought to try a park picnic? :)

    1. Give it a shot. At least once. It makes for a good time... and worse case scenario, you can feed the lunch M won't eat to the ducks and that's always entertaining.

  5. haha, so the key to a picnic is don't feed them for a bit beforehand! I like it =) We love the library but I'm not sure it has any events. I should check when we drop our latest bunch of books off for a new batch. We go often enough but just to pick out new stories. And for Aria to scream 'MA' when I try to go look for some books while dad reads to her. clealy not allowed out of her sight.

p.s. you're no reply blogger status came back! actually you may have fixed it, I noticed it earlier and then I took a computer break to read a book that just came out before I remembered to mention it.

First of all, your library looks amazing! The mural on that wall is fabulous. Also, how did you find toddler time? Is it just story time at your local library? I'd love to take Mason to one!

    1. Our library has toddlertime that is designed for little ones Connor and Mason's age. See what you can find in your area. I love taking C and they do have some weekend events here.
