21 Months - 7.30.14

The cold hard truth: you'll be 2 in 90 days.
What the what?

Okay. Now, let's talk about what fun we've had this month. First things first, you are a talker. You chat all day long. I can't even tell you when or how it all started but one day, Daddy mentioned how talkative you are and ever since then, it's all you do. And I love it. We can now communicate so well and there isn't any frustrating moments of trying to figure out what you need/want.

To piggy back off of your amazing communication skills, I have to document that this is the month that you said... love you. Lord knows you hear a zillion times a day but finally, you said it. It's quiet possibly the most amazing words ever spoken.

You are full of energy and seem to really enjoy independent play these days. You love your cars, Jake figurines and can spend a good 30-45 minutes coloring daily. We play morning, noon and night and you never seem to tire. Too bad the same can't be said for Momma and Daddy!

Eating is on point this month. Well, if you don't count your hate for veggies. Nothing I do makes them intriguing so I've learned to hide them in your daily smoothies and you are none the wiser. You've been a fabulous sleeper lately too but I don't want to talk to much about that because if I jinx myself, I don't know what I'll do.

Life with you has been full of of giggles, wet open mouth kisses and the best hugs ever. You are the center of of our world and we wouldn't want it any other way.

We love you sweet boy. To the moon and back.

  1. Aaahhh, he is so cute! I completely understand having a little who HATES veggies. Hiding them in smoothies is genius! Now if I can only get her to drink a smoothie, lol.

I cried both times I got that first I love you from our girls, one of the best moments ever.

    1. He loves smoothies, always has. I can't imagine where I would be if he didn't. It's truly the only way he gets anything green.

    1. I'm hoping he starts to like more foods the older he gets. He is opening up and ate some sausage and pasta this week so I feel like we are moving into the right direction.

  9. the love yous are the best... gets me every time! I about jumped out of my chair when I read he loves Sheriff Callie! We do too (obviously we have too) but it just makes me so excited to hear another kiddo does too! We call it Callie Cat around here. He looks so grown up with that short hair and it suits him well. Talking is the BEST THING EVER! Even if they sass you back communicating is the best! Happy 21months! Can't wait to see your party planning this year - you did such a great job last year!

    1. It's a little shorter on top than I wanted but it's good for the summer. Especially since his hair grows out so fast.

  11. So, SO sweet! Love you. I am dying for the day Mason says it back. He still doesn't talk much, though we talk a lot to him. That day will melt my heart when he says that.

    1. He know says love me too. He is his biggest fan for sure. When asked who his best friend is, he says Connie and pats his chest.
