5 on Friday

Happy Friday! This week has been something else. Not only did we ring in the New Year but Connor is finally through being sick! Can I get an amen? Boy am I ready for our household to be healthy. Let's hope I get feeling better soon!

 And to kick off  the first Friday in the year, I'm going to link up with Darci and the gals for 5 on Friday

{ONE}
The guys and I kicked the New Year off with a park date and for once, I was really happy to be living in Texas, celebrating the New Year. A park play date on January 1st would never happen in Ohio. It's safe to say, the little guy enjoyed himself. And if that smile is any indication of what the year is going to be like, I say bring it on!

{TWO}
We have a full weekend planned and I'm so excited to spend time with our friends. Hence the need to feel better soon. Brunch on Saturday morning, dinner/Christmas Saturday night and Sunday, we are going to attend church and I have a Baby Sprinkle to attend. Busy busy but I'm love filling our weekend with friends and chances to make memories. I really want to make the most of our weekends and what better way then to do so with the first week of the new year.

Speaking of Christmas, Connor finally got to enjoy the gifts James and I bought him. Since going to Ohio for Christmas and then C and I being sick this week, it kept getting pushed to the side. Good thing the little guy doesn't know it's January and Christmas was last month!

And please tell me how awesome it is that I didn't even take the time to wrap his gifts? ;) Mom of the Year in the house! Oh well... I can tell you that wrapped or not, the boy loves his presents.

{FOUR}
2 of my favorite TV shows return this month: Downton Abbey and The Following (what a combo, right?) Do you watch either? At first, Downton Abbey was a tough one to really commit to but I feel that last season, they were stepped up their storyline and it's gotten pretty good. The Following provides me with a weekly dose of murder and crazy and we all know how I love both. Be sure to check them out.

{FIVE}
I want to share with you a monthly post I'm hosting that gives you a chance to be in the spotlight.

Each month in 2014, I will be showcasing an fellow blogger, someone like me who is somewhat new to the blogging world and is trying to make connections and grow their piece of the world wide web. I wouldn't be where I am today with Wife Mommy Me if it weren't for the support I've received from more seasoned writers. I have a few spots open so if you are interested, email me (sacox65@gmail.com).

Happy Friday ya'll!

  3. I had a friend growing up that didn't get her presents wrapped. Her mom figured they knew what they were anyway. As we got older we knew our presents and sometimes they weren't wrapped. It was hardest as a child. Presents would be under the tree the day after thanksgiving. We never knew what they were and my dad would say God and Santa are watchin'! Do you know how hard it is for a kid to not touch presents waiting for over a month?!?!

  7. Hi Stephanie, great 5 On Friday. I have missed a few and am playing catch up now.

    Cute picture at the park. Love your Christmas tree and I didn't wrap gifts this year either. I just put my gifts in reusable bags.
