1.30.13 - 3 Months

CONNOR

Happy 3 months, Little Mister! Just as I mentioned in previous letters to you, you are growing so fast! As much as I am looking forward to watching you grow, I'd like to push the pause button and really enjoy you being my baby, too.

You have really started to explore this month! You are now able to follow us around with those big blue eyes of yours. When I'm preparing dinner, you will sit in your bouncer and follow my every move. If I stop and ask you what's going on, you give me the biggest grins. You are by far the happiest baby I've never been around. You smile so much!

We you have been sleeping in your crib all month long and you've been doing so good. You sleep in it during nap time and each night for about 6-8 hours. You still like being swaddled and that's something we need to work on because you are starting to move and roll from to your side. You can't have your blanket for safety reasons so let's hope you do okay without it.

Since we moved to Ohio to Texas, we needed to find you a new pediatrician. In doing so, we learned that you aren't gaining weight like you should. At your 2 month check-up, you were at 25% for your weight and now you are at 19%. You weighed 11 lbs, 14 oz at your appointment so the doctor suggested we put your on a thicken formula. This will not only help with your weight but it's designed for babys with acid reflux. You've been doing pretty good since we've changed your formula, let's hope it shows up on the scale at your 4 months appointment.

I want you to know this now in case it's mentioned later on - you have your Daddy's ears and toes. Sorry, kiddo!! The only thing you have that's Mommy's is my eyes and my round head. Regardless of whose what you got, I think you are handsome and so many others agree!

This month, we took you to the Austin Zoo. Although you are a little young, you seemed to enjoy spending the afternoon in your stroller, checking things out. We also found a home church and you've gotten to spend time in the nursery with other little ones like you. You meet some people from NH at a couple get togethers and every one just loves you. I don't blame them one bit. You are irresistible.

CJ, you are the brightest part of our lives and we love you so very much!!

-xoxo-

Branching Out

I had mention before that moving to to Texas was something that scared me, something that was totally out of my comfort zone. I've been here a month and am slowly getting into a routine.

One thing I plan to start working on this week is getting out and meeting people. More importantly than meeting people, I really need to get myself and Connor out of the house. Somewhere other than the grocery store, Target or Hobby Lobby.

I've done some research about what is offered in RR for SAHM and made some plans to branch out, get to know our new hometown and the people that call RR home.

This week, Connor and I are going to the Round Rock Public Library for Babytime. Babytime is a program specially designed for babies and their parent(s). Babytime encourages language development and learning through stories, rhymes, and music.  C loves music and I read to him every night before bed so I am sure we both will love Babytime.

On Monday, I will be attending my first MOPS meeting. As excited as I am, I'm a bit nervous, too. Mondays meeting will be with a speaker, speaking on nutrition and women's health. We will also be making a necklace craft. Since Connor is just 3 months old, he will stay with me during the meeting. I am really hoping he behaves. And even more so, I hope to really enjoy myself during MOPS.

Some of you know I love to read. I thought why not take something I enjoy and make friends doing it. The Round Rock Public Library a book club that meets once a month. My first meeting will be February 10th. I will pick up my book on Thursday... looks like I have a lot of reading in my near future!

We also found a home church that I hope to get involved in.

I have really thought long and hard on how to meet new people. Especially free or cheap ways. I'm looking forward to making use of our local library and my MOPS club membership.

** Let me know if you have any other suggestions on what Connor and I can do to fill our days! **

Sometimes

Sometimes...

I don't shower until James gets home from work. On purpose.

I spend Connor's entire nap watching Army Wives.

Shopping for warm weather clothes makes me sick. I'm not exactly in the best summer shape, just yet.

Pinterest takes over my mind and all I can do is think about my next project. Or someones 1st birthday party.

Diet Coke and Thin Mints are what's for breakfast.

I take too many photos of Connor. But it pays off. Because sometimes I capture this face:

Happy Monday folks!

Thanksful Thursdays

This week I'm giving thanks for...

** 3-5 hour long naps each afternoon. Connor knows Momma needs some down time. Thank you, Frankie.

** Free money. Thanks to using credit cards with cash back perks, I got a $25 gift card that bought diapers, formula and brownie mix. All paid for!

** $20 credit to Tiny Prints that allowed me to get address labels with our new address for free!

** Warm weather that allows our family to spend time outdoors.

** Vacations planned to see our friends and family.

Hip2Save & Ebates - My Best Friends

I've mentioned before how I love Hip2Save and Ebates but today, I want to share with you 2 examples of why I love both sites so damn much!

On Wednesday, Hip2Save shared this deal:

Currently, Ashford.com has marked down this Relic by Fossil Starla Women’s Watch (in White) to only $28 (regularly $75!) + FREE shipping. Even sweeter, use the promo code SDSTARLA at checkout to snag this watch for only $18.99 shipped to your door.

I went through Ebates (you know the site, where you get PAID TO SHOP ONLINE! Hello lady!) and was rewarded with 3% cash back. Now, I get that that's only like 60 cents but if you were given 60 cents a day for a month, that would be an extra $18 at the end of the month.

Next deal. If you know me, you know I absolutely ADORE snail mail, stationary, address labels, etc. You know, everything 1990 when it comes to communication. I alone keep the mailman in our neighborhood working. Hip2Save had this deal on Wednesday, as well:

Wow! Here’s a *HOT* deal you can score on a personalized, Self-Inking Stamp from Staples.com! Just head on over here and click on the banner to the right that looks like the picture above to snag a Self-Inking Stamp for just $0.99 (regularly $18.99). Choose from black, red, green blue, or purple ink! Even better, if you opt to upload an image instead of entering text for your stamp, Priority or Rush Shipping will be FREE! Otherwise, shipping starts around $7.99.

Again, I went through Ebates and scored 6.5% cash back on my purchase. I know it's only like a nickel but again, it's a FREE nickel. All I did was shop. Plus I have a Staples Reward membership, which gets me coupons when I shop. I recently scored $35 in coupons that I used for ink for our printer. Free ink? Yes, please!

So in about 30 minutes, I got a myself two gifts for $19.98, saved $74.00, all while C napped. I also earned 65 cents for just shopping and both items are coming to my home for FREE. If you're family is like ours, every penny counts. Why not let online websites do the work for you?
