Playing Catchup

I had all these plans to keep up blogging through the holiday and trip back home. As you can tell, that didn't work out so well. Sometimes, it's just easier to sit back and enjoy life, let it happen and not document it to pieces. You know, just be.

We left for family, friends and Christmas on Thursday the 19th. Being in town for 10 days meant we needed to pack nearly all of our earthly belongings and prepare to live out of a suitcases for a bit. Traveling with a toddler is challenging, especially one like Connor who is 10000% a creature of habit, but it's even more of a challenge when you are trying to celebrate Christmas (think buy, wrap, ship, track and give gifts for nearly 20 people in 5 different cities). While I loved being with my family and friends, Christmas wasn't as enjoyable as I would have liked it to be. The traveling was okay, thank goodness the Ohio weather was decent, but thanks to Connor's sensitivity to different climates, he got sick 3 days after we landed. A toddler out of his element along with all 3 of us surviving from some Ohio allergies/sinuses/colds, it was a rough week and a half. Spending time with our people was worth the late nights, disorder, sinus pressure and a 3 hour wait at the ATL airport. Or so I think now that I'm home.

We received so many great gifts this year. We have such a loving group of people to celebrate the holidays well. Connor was spoiled beyond belief. I had even told people NO TOYS but that fell on deaf ears as my Mom is sending us 4 boxes of gifts. Oy! Where we will put those?, Lord only knows!

I'm trying to get myself (the house, the luggage, the boys) in order so we can tackle the New Year on Wednesday. I can't believe how quickly the last year as flashed by. Having a baby makes things move so quickly, doesn't it? I have a lot of great ideas and plans I want to execute in twenty fourteen. Let's hope I can pull them off.

I hope each of you had a great holiday with your friends and family. As much as I love this time of year, it's safe to say I'm glad it's come and gone.

Happy Sunday!

  2. Pretty sure you read my mind, and then wrote it all down for me.
There were grand plans of epic holiday blogging. Failed miserably. Scott even asked if I was going to take pictures, and I finally broke down and said I just wanted to enjoy the moment.
Ready to tacke 2014... Someone better pass the bottle of wine. :)
