Meet Honey Bear

Please watch this video before reading today's post. I promise you it's worth it.

I don't exactly remember when Honey Bear became the 6th member of my family. It was when C was just a little guy and James stumbled across him on YouTube. For what ever ridiculous reason, Honey Bear calms Connor. HB instantly makes him stop crying, bringing a smile to his face. I wish the same could be said for me but that's not the case. Honey Bear drives me batty but I take one for the team and play HB for Connor. After all, what C wants, C gets. Which means we've been dealing with this bear and his underwear for 13 months. Fun stuff, right?

In honor of our family's relationship and deep deep dependency on Honey Bear, it was only fitting that when we took Connor to Build A Bear for the first time, we purchase a bear, dress him like HB and name him Honey Bear. It's sick really. I'm shaking my head as I type this. Of all the animals, outfits and names.

Connor had a blast. He didn't know where to look or what to touch, it was all just so inviting. And can we please check out the boy in those glasses and that outfit? I die. My kid is cute cute cute.

Seriously?
That's our first Build A Bear... wearing underwear...
At some point, I'll just get used to such antics. Until then...
There's sunshine in my heart, it's always there

(if you don't get that last line, then damn you! You didn't torture yourself watch the video)

  2. Our daughter also has a bear wearing underwear but I have never heard of Honey Bear until this post. I can feel your pain. Wait until you have to explain to grandparents why a bear named "Horrace" is wearing green checkered panties...

  5. Oh my...that voice. Yikes! I'm not going to lie to you, I had to test it out. I brought Grayson over and had him watch the video....and he LOVED it. He watched so intently, and every once in awhile he would get the biggest smile on his face and laugh. What am I not getting here?!?
