2013 in Review - Part 1

Happy Saturday!
Today, I'm linking up with Nicole at Three 31 to reminisce about 2013. I'm amazed with how much can really happen in just 365 days. Stay tuned for part 2 as I'm splitting the yearly review into 2 posts.

What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before? Traveled to Denver, CO and New Orleans and spent the entire year working from home as a stay at home Momma.

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I had to go back and see if I even set any for the 2013 year... and I did. You can find those here. Sadly, I didn't reach any of the goals listed. Whomp whomp. However, a new year is approaching and I plan to kick it's ass. Check out the goals I have in mind, which are listed here.

Did anyone close to you give birth? No which is odd now that I think of it. But Nicole is due in May with a second little boy. I can't wait to celebrate Baby Boy Snowden!

Did anyone close to you die? Yes. In March, my Papaw passed away. I miss him daily.

What countries did you visit? Just the US but I visited more states than ever before.

What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013? More quality time with my husband. 2013 was a busy busy year for us and I'd love to carve out some more one on one time for the two of us.

What date from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory? March 23, 2013

What was your biggest achievement of the year? Other than surviving our first year of parenthood? Maybe growing my blog a bit and keeping our house in one messy piece.

What was your biggest failure?
That's a easy one... I really let myself go physically in 2013. It's easy to do when you have the ability to stay in comfy yoga pants all day and don't leave the house for days at a time. That's for the birds though. It's on in 2014. Serious.

Did you suffer illness or injury? C and I both were ridiculous this spring and summer with colds and allergies. I think it's being in a new climate for the first time, our bodies just didn't know how to handle the change. I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.

What was the best thing you bought? I have no idea. That's a good question I guess. I sorta bough this girl's friendship and it was the best money spent since I love her.

Whose behavior merited celebration? James'. He has handled me being a mess for the last 13 months so well. Like, he deserves a medal. Between the changes to my body post baby to moving away from home and staying home with C, I've been a mess. My husband is a saint and I don't tell him thank you nearly enough.

Where did most of your money go? Target. For real. And to Connor. Dude is spoiled.

What did you get really, really, really excited about? Going to Denver. I have always wanted to visit Colorado and I'm so glad I did. I haven't seen much of the country but I can promise you, Denver is a one of a kind place and within hours of visiting, I fell in love. I can't wait to go back.

Part 2 of my year in review will be posted on Saturday, December 21st. Check back then!

  1. Glad to hear you survived your first year of parenthood. I am half way through mine. It's been a wild ride. I agree it's hard to carve out quality time with the husband. That will be a resolution for me as well!

  2. Love this. I love reflecting back on a whole year. I think I might join this link up too.
