8.30.13 - 10 Months {Double Digits}

I'm going to switch up how I do your monthly updates starting with this one. There is just so much I want to document (remember) that I think this new style will work best. I'm laughing as I type this because when you are old enough to read this, you are going to understand how forgetful motherhood has made me.

* You have the best personality. You are equal parts laid back, happy and outgoing, serious, funny and hands down the biggest flirt in all of Texas.

* You are 100% all boy. What you can't see in these pictures is the scrap on your hand from playing at the park today. You love to crawl, climb and discover. You are turning into quite the adventurous fella.

* In the last month, you have decided that you like to cuddle. Can I tell you how my heart melts when you lay you head down on my shoulder at bed time? Or when Papa comes home from work and you give him a snuggle before he goes to change clothes? You are so affectionate nowadays and I hope it lasts.

* You have mastered crawling and standing and now you are "walking" from one place to the next. It's safe to say you will be walking soon.

* You love to be tickled and wrestled with. Your laugh is the best sound my ears have ever heard. I love spending my days making you giggle. You also like being scared, as in Papa and Momma hiding and jumping out and yelling "BOO!". You just giggle and giggle.

* Feedings have been a bit rough around here in the last month. You aren't a fan of Stage 3 foods that include beef or chicken. You are okay with turkey and noodles but beef and chicken make you completely miserable.

* We have been giving you "grown up" foods here and there. Just to let you experience it. You've had corn, blueberries, Chex cereal, banana and one single baked bean. You've done well with each and every one of them. I am fairly confident if I were to give you one meal of "grown up" food, you would be in little piggy Heaven.

* Some of your favorite toys include cars (any variety - if there are wheels, you love it!), books and a Wilson basketball (pretty much any ball). You've really picked up an interest in books over the last month. It's safe to say we read the same 4 books to you, 2-3 times a day, especially your Sesame Street collection.

* I am sad you say you that you are now down to just one nap a day. This makes some days extremely long and tiring but you are just too busy to stop and take a second nap. You are still sleeping 11-12 hours a night (THANK YOU!).

* You still refuse to hold your bottle. I've all but given up on trying. I figure you'll do it one day. And seriously, what's a Mommy for anyway?

Simply put, you have made the last 10 months of our lives amazing. I can't imagine how different you will be 10 months from now. What I can tell you is that Papa and I love this life you've given us.

We love you Connor James!
Too the moon and back.

  1. He is such a cutie! My daughter is so random with her afternoon nap, definitely makes some days drag, but like you said she's too busy moving around to stop!

  2. He must just like that Mommy time when he eats. ;)

  3. Happy 10 Months to Connor!
Watch out momma, it sounds like he'll be running all over the place soon. :)

  4. How is he 10 month already? And how is he so tan? Sweet baby boy, can't wait to snuggle that little guy!!

  5. I can't believe he's almost 1!! He's such a little cutie! And definitely sounds like a total boy.

  6. Such a happy boy. Every little one is different with walking as i'm sure you've heard a hundred times... but I thought my little girl would walk early and instead she "cruised" for 5 months before taking a single independent step. But when she did man did she take off! I guess what I'm saying is more practice isn't bad so let him take his time :)
