Finish the Sentence Linkup - Part 2

http://www.thelifeofjake.com/

This could be my new favorite linkup. Give it a try and you will love it too!

1. If calories didn't count, I would eat... 24 friggin' 7. I have no shame in the fact that I love food. It's just so damn good. I'd break out the carbs, you know chips, cookies, cakes, breads and pastas, and enjoy life.

2. On my prom night.... I went with some girlfriends because my dickhead of a boyfriend wouldn't go with me. And instead of enjoying after prom, I rushed over to his house and was asleep by 11. Super lame.

3. When I go to the store, I always buy... toothpaste. The idea of running out of it scares the shit out of me. A funky mouth is not welcomed here.

4. Family functions typically... causes me to gain a good 5 pounds. We eat too much for too long. Especially Mom's Coma Cake. 'nough said.

5. I think my blog readers... must be saints because I don't really have anything entertaining to share but all 46 of them rock my sock. Thanks dolls. And James.

6. I'd much rather be... fat and happy then skinny and miserable. I did the latter of the two before and that shits for the birds. Fat, happy and sassy it where it's at. Well.. chubby. No one likes fat.

7. I have an obsession with.... nothing. I think I'm the only person on the planet who isn't obsessed with something. Makes me feel boring. I need an obsession. Any suggestions?

8. My work friends.... are an almost 5 month old baby, 3 dogs and a cat.

9. When I created my Facebook account.... I thought it was way lame and now it's part of my daily routine.

10. My least favorite word is... moist. Something about that word gives me the hibby jibbies.

11. I really don't remember.... enough of the details of Connor's birth story to put a post together. When I read others, I feel totally inadequate as a Mom. I remember being given lots of drugs, waiting and waiting and waiting, using a food tray table to prop open my legs (I will never use one of those again!) and finally being told a c-section was our only hope. 26 hours and 2 minutes later, bam! Frankie was born. End of birth story.

12. Justin Bieber.... needs to realize one thing:

In Memory

Dear Papaw,

Simply put: I can't believe you are gone. I can't believe that I haven't seen you in over a year and the next time I do, we will be laying you to rest.

If I had the chance to spend some time with you before you passed, I would tell you how much I love you. How much you mean to me. Before Daddy came into my life, you were the best father figure a girl could wish for. Thank you for loving me so much.

I will forever carry your memory in my heart. I will always cherish the time we spent together when I was little. I can promise you that Connor will grow up knowing about my Papaw, his Grand Papaw. He will know what a good heart you had and that you loved his Mommy; that I was your favorite.

Papaw, I know, without a doubt, you are in Heaven watching over us. You are now with your siblings and your loving parents. I hope you get to spend lots of time with Mamaw Bernice and Papaw Bill. They are good people, you will like them.

I am comforted in knowing you are healthy again. You no longer have heart problems and can move about with total grace. As much as we will mourn for you, I know that you are with our Heavenly Father.

I will see you again. Until then, shine your love down on us.

Love,
Baby

5 for Five - Tuesday Style

I totally realize it's Tuesday, after 5 PM. I've been hella busy around these parts. I'm just now getting a break.

  FantasticallyAverage

So last week, I set the following goal - let's see how the week went:
  1. The weather is supposed to be in the 70's all week long - Connor and I, and maybe James in the evening, will work 5 days this week, 45+ minutes or more.
  2. Get some pre-packing done for our trip to OK next week.
  3. Purchase and mail out Layla's birthday gift.
  4. No electronics after 8 p.m. (again).
  5. Get Cora, Will and Allee's Easter gifts bought and in the mail by Saturday at the latest!
Not bad, right? The whole electronics after 8 things is damn near impossible. I've decided to give up trying and if I happen to not be on my computer, phone or Kindle after 8, I will celebrate quietly.

And since Connor and I are headed north to the Sooner State tomorrow, I've given myself the week off from setting goals. Actually, I take that back. I have one goal this week.

Make it to Muskogee, OK with a happy baby and my sanity in check.

Adios 35.6

If you've been following ABM10, you've heard me from time to time mentioned that I am trying to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. Well I've done it and THEN SAME. It's not a small number by any stretch of the imagination. However, I've lost 35.6 pounds since giving birth to our baby boy.

In the beginning the weight fell off. I would guess that I lost the first 20 pounds within a month of having Connor. Maybe it was the crazy hours, forgetting to eat and just trying to survive, but the weight came off really fast. The last 15 pounds not so much.

I'm 5'1". When I gave birth to Connor, I weighed 193. That my friends was the biggest I've ever been (I know, I was pregnant) but I can say that in June 2011, I weight 183. Fat ass. No need to keep it to yourselves, I am fully aware of how large I was. Side note: as of yesterday I haven't had a glorious Mt. Dew in 21 months. I feel as if I should have a coin to celebrate. This is my sobriety.

The bulk of my weight problem is I didn't really care what the number said. I enjoyed food without hesitation. Genetics aren't in my favor, either. When we got married, I was so embarrassed by my photos. I couldn't believe how big I was. And let's face it, that is the worst time to feel unattractive. I decided then and there that I was going to change. I was going to get healthy. One way or another.

When we found out we were expecting, I had lost nearly 30 pounds. Thank God! Had I not, I would have been one big pregnant gal! Throughout my pregnancy I made a point of making smart decisions so that my weight didn't skyrocket or have a negative effect on my unborn child.

At this point in time, I weight 157.4. Yes, .4 because to me, every ounce counts. My goal would to be down to about 150. I would be happy with that. I'd like to tone up some of my problem areas... you know... the belly, thighs and upper arms.

I am a work in progress. But that's it, I'm making progress. I am becoming a healthier wife and mother. My son is going to grow with a mom who is active and took care of herself. I want to set a good example for Connor. I want him to be raised in a home where food isn't therapy and the outdoors is your best friend.

So here is to my last 7.4 pounds. May I lose you and never cross your path again.

Here is proof that anyone can do what I'm doing. I ran/walked a 5K on Tuesday night in 42:03 minutes. Again, I'm making progress. My new goal is the next time I set out to run a 5K, I can get my time down to 40 minutes. When I don't want to workout, I just tell myself the reward to far to great. Get up and do it. It's just another step.

So What!

So What Wednesday

Happy Wednesday followers!

This week I'm saying So What!...

** Vacations still excite me (2 this month!) yet at the same time, I'm scared of how Connor will behave when his scheduled is out of whack.

** I don't always agree with Connor's pediatrician so I'm considering changing.

** Sleeping 6 hours is a total luxury these days.

** Since we owe the IRS this year, I'm already planning what I want to do with our hopefully refund next year.

**  Mothers who breastfeed, cloth diaper, co-sleep and practice attachment parenting blow my mind.

** I need a bathing suit by 3/30... eff me! No good :(

** Getting the mail is one of the highlights of my day. Especially when something I've ordered arrives earlier than expected.

5 for Five

5 for Five
Happy Monday! Get your to-do lists ready and link up with Jenn and Jessica for this week's 5 for Five!!

 FantasticallyAverage

Here are my 5 for Five from last week.
Green means I accomplished the goal, blue (because yellow is hard to see for some reason) means I almost stuck to my goal and red means I did not accomplish the goal.
  1. Have the house cleaned, laundry done and errands ran by Friday afternoon so the weekend can be spent with James and Frankie, enjoying the great weather we have coming our way. (I had everything done by Thursday night so Friday was spent hanging out with  my sweet boy since it rained all day)
  2. Track all my meals on MyFitnessPal (1sassycox), even the bad ones. (Sure did!! And because I knew I was aiming for a 2 pound lost, I did so well and kept myself mindful of the meals I had)
  3. Lose 2 pounds this week - this would put me at my pre-pregnancy weight (frickin' finally). (I actually lost 3.6 pounds last week. See what calorie counting and (some) workouts will do?! I'm so proud of myself)
  4. No trips to Hobby Lobby or Target. (We did go to Target Friday night but we needed to. We got Connor a few things that he needed and Target was open and right around the corner)
  5. Complete Connor's 3 Month entry in his baby book. (I looked at his book while cleaning his closet. That's it!)

Here are my 5 for Five this week

PS - this is my 200th post! Holy crap! I've thought something was important/cool/blog worthy enough 200 times!
I may just be a blogger yet!

It's Friday!!!

And because I am totally lacking in coming up with my own blog worthy thoughts, I am linking up with Holly and Jake for Finish The Sentence.

1. People always tell me that I look someone they know. Of course I do. I'm a brunette with blue eyes. There is a shit ton of us out there.

2. In the movie based on my life, a R rating would be needed. I curse like a sailor and my husband says things that are far from being politically correct.

3. Typically, I end up regretting the majority of all decisions I make so I don't make decisions. Pisses James off all the time.

4. I always ask to leave off the everything. It doesn't get any picker than me. I'm the pain in the ass customer most waiters/waitresses hate.

5. Kim and Kanye really need to keep their pants on. There is no need to make more than one "oops" baby.

6. My Parents always reminded me that I always look at myself in any reflective surface. I must check my appearance. And it's sad but true - Connor does it as well.

7. Every single day I wake up hoping that I've lost more weight regardless of that fact that I refuse to cut back on certain foods like sweets, breads, pastas. You know, the good stuff.

8. This one time in college I paid $16k for 41 days of school. Epic fail. Lesson learned.

9. My grossest habit is I always debate on washing my hair every day. If I'm not going anywhere, why should I waste expensive shampoo/conditioner.

10. My latest white lie was when I told a fellow Mom group member her son's name was cute. It's not and he is going to be picked on until the day he dies. Seriously. It's that bad.

11. I know all the words to damn near EVERY Disney movie song made before 2000.

12. When I grow up I want to be a trophy wife.

13. Sexy time is something James wants more of and quite frankly, ain't nobody got time for that.

14. I will never, ever be able to forgive my high school best friend for being a heartless bitch.

15. I think it's hilarious when my almost 4 year old nephew calls his little friend Bo, his boyfriend.

Faves

Lately, I've been loving a few things. Shall I share?

Collect Photo App
Do you have this on your smart phone? I have it on my iPhone 5 and love it! The Collect app helps you remember your life by storing one photo every day. I just started in March, although I wish I had known about this in January. But at the end of each month, watch out for a post that includes a monthly wrap up involving my Collect Photo app photos.

My Mia
For my 30th birthday in November, James got me a Clarisonic Mia. Now before you think he was hinting around that I needed one, I had mentioned I would like to have one. Also, I'm not normally someone who spends a lot of money on beauty products but this little miss is worth it!! It provides you with a quick 60 second facial in the comfort of your home. I have combination skin and this gem works magic on both my dry and oily spots.

Clarisonic Mia is available in multiple colors

Meetup.com
Having moved to a strange land where I know no one, I had to get out and meet people. Meetup.com has provided me with that opportunity. I really like the 2 Mom groups I've joined. Some days we meet at a local walking path and walk for a while and chat, sometimes we have themed get togethers involving a craft and then there are Mom Night's Out. Those are my favorite! Check out meetup.com if you are looking to meet new folks.

The Talk
These ladies are out of control fun. They are my kind of girls and way more my speed then the ladies from the View. If you are home in the afternoon, check them out. Cheryl Underwood (the lady on the far left) is my favorite. Hilarious!

Is there anything that you've discovered lately or even something that you consider a must have? Let me know. I love trying out/discovering new things.

So What! Wednesday

So What Wednesday

This week I'm saying So What! if...

** while playing and kissing on Connor this morning, he spit up on my lips. Better than in my mouth.

** listening to Pandora's Toddler radio station improves my mood every time.

** Buying my plane ticket to go home gave me the butterflies. I'm so excited to see so many people.

** Overusing bleach to clean has provided me with more than one ruined sweatshirt.

** I finally joined a Meetup group that I think I will actually like. One of the MNO planned is for pedicures and wine. Umm, hello!?

** Limiting myself to one Diet Coke a day has been the smartest decision I've made about dieting. I've already notice a difference in how my stomach feels.

** Forgetting to turn the oven off resulted in a burnt dinner and a trip to McDonald's for dinner. Gag.
