Pregnancy Update #3

(Why does my face look so strange?!)

How far are we: 21 weeks and 6 days.

How big is baby: Connor is the size of a pomegranate or about 10.5 inches and 12.7 ounces. I can't believe is almost 1 pound!

Total weight gain: 13.8 pounds. I am hoping to stay around 25-30 pounds but that seems unlikely. However, I have started walking 3-4 nights a week and I start water aerobics in July. I hope being active will help me with the weight gain.

Maternity clothes: I'm wearing all maternity bottoms but my tops are a mix. I am still wearing the same bras. Thank goodness! I don't want bigger ladies! 

Stretch marks: NONE! I have been diligent about lotioning up each morning. I hope things stay this way for a while.

Movement: Yes and it's been amazing. I felt Connor move for the first time on 6/11 and James felt him the following day. He seems to be most active after I take my evening walk and shower,a round 9 p.m. I love nights like this. Nothing is more precious than feeling Connor move right before I fall asleep.

Sleep: No problems at all. I usually wake up once to pee (how this will change in the months to come). 

Best moment this week: I had a really good appointment with my dr. this morning. I'm concerned about my weight gain since I have a small torso to carry a baby in. However, the dr. reassured me that I'm doing well. I have "perfect" blood pressure, urine tests (strange, right?) and belly measurements. She did tell me to continue to stay active and to try to eat more veggies. She also said I am worried about my weight and I shouldn't be, that I'm thinking about it too much.

Food cravings: Nothing really. I enjoy cold foods over warm/hot. I am actively trying to get more veggies into my diet but I'd rather not each them at all. There are plenty of reasons to eat more of them so I will just "suffer" through.

Labor signs: None and I'd like it to stay that way.

Belly button in or out: In and I think I have a while before it's an outtie.

What I miss: I wish I had the nerve to continue to do Zumba. I loved the burn/sweat from a good hour of Zumba but it's a bit too high impact for me to be doing pregnant. However, once I'm cleared to work out after having Connor, the first place I'm heading is a Zumba meeting!

What I'm looking forward to: James and I are going on our Babymoon at the end of this month. I can't wait to spend a week with just the Mister.


  1. You look great. Feeling the baby move is one of the best parts and what I miss the most about being pregnant. Enjoy it.

  2. Lookin' good!! :) Baby movement is the sweetest feeling!! Pretty soon those little rolls will make your whole belly move from side to side. Glad you're feeling good!
